Donate Life Week

This week I had the opportunity to cover the launch of Donate Life Week at Westmead Hospital. It’s days like these I think how lucky I am and how I absolutely love my job as I get to meet and be humbled by some truly incredible people.

People like the Gremmo family. Who are brave enough, despite their still very raw pain, to tell the story of Nathan their son’s gift. His gift of organ donation changed the lives of 6 people. He gave them life.

I also was fortunate enough to take the photo of Carlo. He is a kidney transplant recipient in 2011. Carlo says it might be a strange thing to say about a hospital – that he loves it, but it and it’s staff gave him back his life. Most importantly he is eternally thankful to the donor and their family.
